BEGINNING DRAWING (C)
Raul Espinoza
Drawing is the foundation on which painting, graphic design, sculpture and all art media are built. Drawing can also stand on its own as a powerful viable art form. Through a series of class exercises, gain an understanding of the perceptual skills necessary to produce substantial work. Draw from simple still life material and, as you gain confidence, progress to more complex forms. Skills are developed while you explore line quality, direction and variation, tonalities, value grouping, composition and perspective.

Tuesday, 6 - 9pm
7 week fee: $210
14 week fee: $350

INTRODUCTION TO DRAWING PREPARATION FOR PAINTING (C)Connie Athens
This 7 week class is basic, designed for beginners, as well as those who have had some prior experience in drawing and wish to again explore its concepts or prepare for painting classes. Using the still life as primary subject matter, the class is progressive, with an emphasis on developing a clear understanding of line, shape, value, composition and spatial relationships. While applying these principles, learn to create simple, well-balanced drawings as you work in a relaxed environment.

Tuesday, 1 - 4pm
7 week fee: $210

DRAWING: INTERMEDIATE AND ADVANCED (C)
Connie Athens

Individuality is strongly encouraged and projects are independent, with freedom to choose subject matter and media.

Thursday, 9:30am - 12:30pm
7 week fee: $210
14 week fee: $350

LIFE DRAWING (C)
Neil Shigley
The human figure is a powerful vehicle for expression and has been of universal appeal to the artist. Through a series of carefully planned projects, this course will enable the artist’s hand to become more responsive and supple to the movement, balance and rhythm of the figure model. Attention to anatomical proportions and correctness will enable the artist to draw more convincingly. Visual slides and reference materials are utilized.
