MODELING WITH
WAX
Mary
Carin
Artists often
work with wax to make 3-dimensional or relief
sculptures. Wax is a pliable material that can
be used with other materials for sturdiness or
by itself to make a pleasing form. Tools and
supplies will be provided. Bring your ideas and
enthusiasm to make a small piece of work. At a
future time, you may want to take a particularly
pleasing piece to the foundry to be cast into
bronze. Pack a snack if you want.

Loretta Kramer
Experience relief printing using linoleum
blocks. You will also create a textured plate,
known as a collagraph, which is printed in the
intaglio method. The workshop will conclude with
monoprints, which are made by applying colored
ink, in a painterly approach, to the surface of
a printing plate. No experience necessary.

CERAMIC SELF-PORTRAIT
(ages 10 and up)
Mary Carin
Everyone loves working with clay! After
making a direct mold of your own (or a friend's)
face with reinforced plaster bandage, clay is
pressed into the mold. With a few finishing
touches to smooth, add texture and refine the
clay mask, it will be sent out for firing. This
is a great class to share with a family member
or friend.
