| BEGINNING DRAWING (C) Laura Crouch This is a foundation course for students to develop skills in seeing and interpreting the natural world. They learn through practice, repetition of basic principles, experimentation, demonstration, keeping a sketchbook, and interaction with studio mates. A strong emphasis is placed on learning a visual language as it relates to line, composition, value, and basic perspective. Laura shows examples of different artists’ work allowing beginners to see their role in the world of artists. Students will gradually advance and be prepared to continue drawing as a medium in itself, or move towards other classes.
