We offer classes in drawing, painting, and mosaic, exploring numerous techniques within each discipline. Taught by professional artists, these classes will provide you with the creative outlet you have been seeking.

This class is for those who want to strengthen their drawing skills with more complex compositions and subjects. Using photos for your reference, a variety of subjects will be explored while you reinforce the skills you acquired in beginning drawing while also exploring different drawing mediums.

This course offers a complete approach to oil and/or acrylic painting. Using a limited palette of five colors, beginning students will work from a still life, while more advanced students may work from photographs or other reference materials. All will learn techniques and procedures for the successful use of oil paints in personal expression. Emphasis will be on composition, the importance of simple shapes, value, and color to create interesting compositions and harmonious paintings.

Watercolor is not currently being offfered.
This class is offered in person or online, and is appropriate for all levels of watercolor artists.
Beginners will gain confidence and an understanding of this unique and fun medium through a series of specific lessons about paint, brushes, paper, mixing color, washes, wet into wet, dry brush, etc.
More advanced students will work on projects of their own choosing or a class project to further challenge and grow their understanding and confidence in the medium.

This course will explore the expressive immediacy and rich depth of color that can be achieved using soft pastel, a unique medium where pure pigment is applied without the use of tools such as brushes or pallet knife. Emphasis will be on developing compositions from photographs, with subjects ranging from still life and landscape to portraits and the figure. This class will reinforce and build on the student's knowledge and skill in the use of color theory, principles of composition and design, and drawing and perspective. Appropriate for artists of all levels of experience.

CLASSES MEET ONCE PER WEEK FOR 6 WEEKS
Learn a variety of direct mosaic techniques in this exciting, hands-on class. Mosaic is one of the oldest and most enduring art forms, dating back to 5000 BC, when mosaics were constructed out of colored pebbles. Today mosaic artists work with cut ceramic tiles or marble, ceramic dishes and glass. You may create mosaic’d table tops, boxes, containers, sculpture or stepping stones made of wood, ceramic, cement, metal or terra cotta. Produce 3-4 different projects. A list of supplies for the first class will be given upon registration.
CLASSES ARE FOR 6 WEEKS, MEETING ONCE PER WEEK FOR 3 HOURS AT A COST OF $240 for online classes, and $280 for in-person classes. MOSAIC HAs AN ADDED MATERIALS FEE.

This class is designed for beginners, as well as those who have had some prior experience in drawing and wish to prepare for a painting class. Working from still life, the class is progressive with an emphasis on developing a clear understanding of line, shape, value, and composition.
By applying these principles, you will learn the importance of creating simple well balanced drawings in preparation for your paintings.
